Community
New England Conservation Services is dedicated to bringing the most up to date information on energy efficiency to the residents of Connecticut. We are thrilled to be partnered with community groups and organizations that are like minded. If you are part of a group and would like to partner with NECS please email Paul Bogdanoff at pbogdanoff@neconserves.com. We also have wonderful fundraising opportunities for our partners.
Green & Healthy Homes Initiative: A free home energy assessment open to all New Haven residents to reduce energy costs by eliminating common sources of energy waste in the home. A typical energy assessment can save you over $250 per year. Click here to read more [pdf] on how to sign up.
Jonah Center: Preserving areas near and around Middletown, CT will provide opportunities for outdoor recreation; protect wildlife habitats; and serve as an outdoor classroom for environmental and energy-related studies.
Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge: A statewide program designed to try and reduce CT use of resources. Residents can earn points by completing energy related tasks in their home and earn points for their towns to go towards community energy saving systems.
Inter Religious Eco-justice Network: Interreligious Eco-Justice Network (IREJN) is a statewide interfaith coalition with headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut. The organization was founded in 2000 by religious leaders who had become active in the successful "Sooty Six" campaign to clean up Connecticut's dirtiest power plants. IREJN began with the goal of capturing the collaborative spirit of "Sooty Six" to tackle other crucial environmental challenges.
